The Utah High School Activities Association is the leadership organization for high school athletic and fine arts activities in Utah. Since 1927, the UHSAA has led the development of education-based interscholastic athletic and fine arts activities that help students succeed in their lives. These activities are believed to be essential to the high school experience and go a long way toward improving academic performance and producing better citizens.
For many years the UHSAA has presented the Academic All-State Award to recognize those students who have excelled in the classroom and athletic competition. Individuals are selected for this award based on their athletic ability and academic proficiency. With over 100,000 students participating in high school activities, this award is the most prestigious honor the UHSAA presents to senior students. -Rob Cluff
Student-athletes must be varsity contributors and seniors in High School. The administration uploads current transcripts before the nomination is submitted to the UHSAA by the specified deadline. The Academic All-State award is decided by either meeting an index score set forth by the UHSAA or having a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
